I had a revelation this morning that anything can be beautiful as long as you stop and take the time to look at it properly.
Beauty To Me
When I think about what I find beautiful many things come to mind.
- Mountains
- Oceans
- Woods
- Rivers
- Flowers
- Sushi – Food Art
- A women with nice boobs
- A strong women who has beaten cancer
- People who are in shape
- A little kid dancing and laughing
- An old person telling stories of they younger days
But really what is beauty, is it all superficial? We live in a world of selfies now day’s were people are focused on inner “beauty” so much that they can miss out on what the world has to offer. I am not against being online all the time or even someone who posts pictures of themselves a lot. But what I look for in the photos is beauty. Are they seeing the world and sharing their adventures or are they just seeking self gratification.
Beauty (to me) – A moment in time that touches your heart to the point were your life is changed.
A moment of beauty that comes to mind is my last trip to England. Glastonbury Tor – a place were monks gathered and many folklore tales took place latter. It is called the holy hill. As I began my journey at the bottom of the hill the skies were cloudy and air crisp with a light wind. Green grassy fields as far as the eye can see with sheep traversing up and down the hill. I was not ready for what I was about to experience at the top. As we got near the top the silent wind picked up into an audible sound. The tower was no in view, it had been destroyed in an earth quake and rebuilt so only the tower and it’s archways stand today. No one else was around, it was just me and my traveling friend from England who was looking at the outside of the tower. I crossed the threshold and immediately the wind began to howl. It was so strong that all I could hear what sound like rushing waters as if I was standing under Niagara Falls. I looked out over the valley below and the wind began to change me from the inside out. I leaned into the wind as my heart was filled with peace and joy. I began to shout and sing at the top of my lungs, it was something only I could hear as I lifted up my prayers and singing to God. It felt as if I could fly, it was a moment in time were I was utterally alone and completely at peace. After I said everything I wanted I walked back out of the tower (only about a 8×8 area) radically changed for life. What happened in that tower was a special moment I will always treasure. The moment I found beauty.
